[LESS THAN 2 DAYS LEFT] Accent Specialist Program Price Increase, get it now

Hey there,

I don't like to send too many emails promoting paid programs, but if you are an ESL teacher, coach, or Speech-Language Pathologist, this is a time-sensitive and important announcement.

Heck, even if you're just interested in becoming an Accent Coach, you'll want to know about this.

On April 1st, the Accent Specialist Certification at The Accent Channel jumps from $599 to $2,500.

Yes, that's a big jump!

This is one of the programs I’ve taken, and I found it extremely beneficial in my journey as an Accent Coach.

The program is given by Jessica Kijowski, MS, CCC-SLP, an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in teaching accents, dialects, and pronunciation.

For Speech-Language Pathologists, this course offers 1.0 ASHA CEUs. If you're not eligible for ASHA CEUs, you can still earn 10 Continuing Education or Professional Development hours and receive a certificate of training.

My favorite things about this program:

  • It is very efficient and to the point.
  • Jessica allows her students (us!) to use her audio files and PDF downloads with my 1-on-1 students in my sessions AND for assigned homework (which saves so much time and money... hello low-prep lessons!).
  • I have access to her resource library to continue my own learning and to see different ways of teaching my students different aspects regarding accents and pronunciation.

IMPORTANT: THIS DOES NOT REPLACE ACCENT COACHING (if you need help with your accent).

Some Frequently Asked Questions
(from Jessica's Website)

Do I need to be a native speaker of English?

Definitely not!

You don’t need to be a native speaker but you do need to speak English at an advanced level.

There are several non-native speakers in the program and most of them are already out there working with their own students.

Can I Use What I Learn In The Program To Teach Another Accent of English, like British or Australian?

I do have several British and Australian teachers who have completed the program and are now working with students and teaching the British or Australian accent.

The core training is the same, regardless of which accent you are teaching. I use the method that you learn in the program to teach dialects to actors, so the process is the same, you just teach different sounds, if that makes sense.

Because I teach several different British and Australian accents to actors, I can help you with the sounds, if needed. You can ask in the Facebook group or we can discuss at one of the monthly Live Coaching sessions. I'm very hands-on inside the program, so if it's not a weekend, you'll usually hear back from me the same day. I really do offer every bit of knowledge, support, and advice that I can to the teachers in the program.

That being said, all of the practice audios that I offer in the program are recorded in a General American Accent, so you wouldn't be able to use those with your students. You would have the accompanying practice sheets, so you could use them in your sessions and model for your students, but the audios wouldn't work for between session practice if you are teaching anything other than the General American Accent.

Do I need a special certification or licensure to teach accents and dialects?

Nope, not at all. There is no certification or license required to teach accents and pronunciation. Anyone can do it. Some of us just do it a lot better than others ;)

After completing this program, you will be certified in The Accent Channel Method of Speech Improvement and you will receive a certificate of training. You can use this certification to promote your services, but it is not a requirement to start teaching or offering services.

Hey there! Problem Even after mastering American pronunciation, your accent might still sound "off." Why? Solution By comparing and contrasting these differences, you’ll gain a better understanding of what to adjust. After all, you can’t change what you’re unaware of!
